Market like the Super Bowl Commercials

#1 They know their target market

Obviously if someone is marketing with a Super Bowl Commercial they know their target market  (those that will use their services or products) are going to be watching.  Online is the same.  What social networks are you going to participate in?  You will use the social platforms where your target market is.

#2 They know what time their target market is watching

Knowing the perfect time to post when your target market is watching is extremely important.  Example if you are trying to sell to moms of young children, then you would want to post late evening right after they would put their angels to bed.   Posting earlier in the day would cut the chances of their seeing your posts dramatically.

#3 They have determined their marketing budget

We know their marketing budget has to be quite large when the average Super Bowl  commercial is only $4 Million.   I must admit majority of my clients do not have the marketing budget to place $4 Million ads, however they need an ad marketing budget planned into their social media marketing.

#4 They know their keywords

They will be using the keywords that touch their target audience.  Speaking their language is extremely important.   Keywords used strategically help you to be found ORGANICALLY (for FREE) in the search engines.  You can not start a successful marketing campaign without knowing your keywords for online marketing as well as offline!

#5 They invested in the right people to help them strategically plan their marketing

Even if they can why would they create their own commercial?  They realize the need to emphasize their strengths and allow other with their expertise to create the perfect commercial.   It is always best to have a plan with all the right marketing ingredients.    They certainly would never just start a commercial without all the due diligence to make sure the end result is being accomplished.  Same with your social media!  If you are just throwing information out without having a strategic plan you are wasting your time and should consider consulting with someone or outsourcing it totally.

#6  They get STRAIGHT to the point

Knowing they are paying for every second they get straight to the point.  They know they have to sell the audience in a very short amount of time.  Exactly the same with your social media.  If  you are using Twitter you are limited to 140 characters.  We have learned to eliminate the fluff.. get right to the point.

#7 They create an IMAGE that is memorable

All the pieces and strategy are now planned.  They have to create that video that paints an image that encourages their audience to REMEMBER them.   As the old term a picture is worth a $1,000 words reminds us how valuable SEEING is BELIEVING.  Images are the basis for creating a desire for your services or products.  If you are using the Social platform Pinterest, it is worthless without a photo.

#8 They don’t step on other companies to make themselves look good..

It may be because of the rules and they know their commercial could be pulled if they disgrace other companies.  It is recommended we use the Disney’s Thumper advise.  If you can’t say something good don’t say anything at all..  If you feel the need to cut another company down to make yourself look good, it will come back to bite.  Remember whether a video, photo or content online, it is eternal..  Be careful and only post what you are willing to put other there for the public to view…

If you need help with that strategy for the online world, we would love to have a conversation to see if it would be a good partnership.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday…. May the best man (TEAM) win!
